At Hour Lives we understand the importance of wellbeing and good mental health and we know that sometimes we could all do with some help and support. Below are the details of some amazing organisations and charities that can do just that, so if you feel the need to speak to somebody then do reach out.

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)

CALM offer accredited, confidential and free support to men anywhere in the UK through a helpline and webchat service. They will talk through any issue with you and offer support, advice and signposting. You can find them online here

Contact

Contact is a collaboration of mental health charities and organisations, convened by The Royal Foundation. Each organisation offers mental health support for veterans. A wide range of support is available through these organisations for servicemen and women and their families. You can find them online here.

Mind

Mind’s Infoline advisers provide information on a range of topics including types of mental health problems, where to get help and support in your local area, medication and alternative treatments and advocacy. You can find them online here.

Samaritans

Samaritans are there, day or night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope and needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure. Samaritans is not only for the moment of crisis, they also take action to prevent the crisis. They give people ways to cope and the skills to be there for others and encourage, promote and celebrate those moments of connection between people that can save lives. Shout

If you need immediate support, you can text SHOUT to and chat by text. The service is free on most networks and available 24/7, and trained volunteers will listen to you and work with you to take the next steps towards feeling better. You can find them online here.

The Mix

The Mix is for people under 25 to take on the embarrassing problems, weird questions, and “please don’t make me say it out loud” thoughts that we have. They offer a free and confidential helpline available via phone, email or webchat. They also have discission boards and live chat. You can find them online here.

YoungMinds

YoungMinds run a free and confidential parents helpline, which parents and carers can call if they are worried about how a child or young person is feeling or behaving. They also run a group called Parents Say, for parents whose children are accessing child and adolescent mental health services. You can find them online here.
