Jim Danby

Jim Danby

Jim Danby is one of the talented musicians sharing their music with us all through Hour Lives and is also the guest in the final episode of series one of Hour Lives. Jim is a singer songwriter and artist from East Yorkshire, with writing songs and painting being two of his self-confessed greatest passions in life. Jim’s main instrument is the acoustic guitar, but recording his work on a portable home studio he can also turn his hand to bass guitar, keyboard and percussion.

Jim’s self-penned songs have been played on BBC Radio Humberside and other local radio stations and he has also performed them live on air too, including an appearance on Peter Levy’s lunchtime radio show to sing “Big Flat City” – a jolly little tune celebrating the city of Hull.

Describing Hour Lives, Jim said “It’s the brainchild of Victoria Garratt and Andy Swalwell, who have spent the last few months grafting away at this excellent collection of interviews with the aim of giving us all a damn good dose of positivity. Each week has a different guest, with their own unique story, and the conversations are nicely interspersed with music from local artists. I’m incredibly grateful to have been asked to take part.”
